Black and White Thinking.

A friend sent this to me and I had to share! This poem from Shel Silverstein is a great way to introduce the concept that we all have different parts inside us and that no one part is the absolute truth (ie: being “lazy” or “messy”).

Learning to navigate thoughts and feelings without absorbing that thought or feeling as intrinsic to who they are is an important process. It’s calming the brain and recognizing that we are allowed to feel and think many things, and that no one thing defines us!

This poem appears in the book “A Light in the Attic”.
